If you’ve been visiting my blog on a regular basis you’ll know that each week I create a list of my favorite recipes by other bloggers. I decided its about time that I talk about it a little more (you know, in case you were wondering :)) and then create a master ‘list of lists’!
The genius behind the Top Ten lists is Amanda from OhAmanda.com. Each Tuesday there is a blog carnival for you to submit any posts that have a top ten list in them. People are very creative and I really learn a lot from they have to say!
Here is a list of top ten reasons why I’m doing my own top ten lists :P
(Goodness… I can’t decide if that’s harder to read or type ;))
1) I get to expose new blogs to current and new readers alike (well, at least I try… Some weeks I’m better at it than others.)
2) I get to share recipes that my current readers may not have seen yet during that week. (Or minimally, remind them of a recipe they already saw and liked.)
3) I have a chance to network with new bloggers (if I add a recipe from a blog that I’ve never seen before, chances are that blogger has never seen me before either!)
4) In some ways, it gives me a chance to say ‘thanks’ to the bloggers that I look up to (because inevitably, they’re fabulous recipes are going to be listed pretty often :))
5) I am forced to spend time in my blogroll/reader each week to stay on top of what bloggers are posting (its a hard thing to keep up with. So many great posts, so little time!)
6) I can have more exposure on my social media sites by calling out each chosen recipe and linking it to the creator of said recipe (such as on twitter).
7) I get to link back to one of my own recipes, if I choose, which gives it a little extra exposure.
8) I’m building an online recipe book for myself.
9) I’m giving myself a outlet when recipe inspiration doesn’t flow. It’s like looking through a cookbook at the store to get ideas. What I make might not look anything like what someone else has, but you never know where I got my random inspiration! :)
10) It’s yet another blog carnival to participate in (Top Ten Tuesday) which gives my blog more exposure. (Well, one would hope :))
