Never miss a recipe!

Email updates from Living Free

Noooo, another week has FLOWN by! I’m telling you, this graduate school thing is crazy. It’s funny though, I used to think that working my job in New York City was long hours, challenging, and stressful…. but apparently I was wrong… At least, it could never compare to the 14-16 hour days I’m pulling here… Look out NY, here comes Delaware! (HA!)

That note aside, compiling a list of recipes this week was particularly painful for me. I’m on a week of veggies, fruit, and a few basic grains. I’ve been struggling with my health a lot lately and it was recommended that I go back to the basics for a week and slowly start introducing more foods back in. Looking at all your fabulous recipes was an emotional experience; I want to eat them all. And NOW! But alas, I cannot. Soon enough though, I (hopefully!) will be trying all your ‘to-drool-over’ creations.

Sorry to hear you’re not feeling great. With all that work you’re doing, I’m sure the extra stress probably isn’t helping. And I definitely know how hard it is to look at blog pics when you can’t eat any of it! Hope you’re feeling better soon, and can successfully add more foods back in.

Sorry to hear about the health issues! But I bet the cleaner diet will make a difference. . . and you’ve sparked my memories of grad school. It does get better, I promise. ;)

  3. Rats, Aubree, on not being at your best. I agree that those long days and stress aren’t helping. Tough. I hope that simplifying your foods will have you feeling better and back on top soon!

Thanks so much for including my Popeye Bars in your weekly Top 10. :-) I’m honored as always when I get this special recognition! The Popeye Bars are yummy and an energy boost. I’ve been eating them as a snack or part of breakfast on the run and they do the trick!

    Hugs,
    Shirley

Aubree, I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling your best. I hope your diet change helps and that you are getting enough sleep with your crazy schedule. Thanks for including my chicken cacciatore in your list. I haven’t seen a few of the others in the list and need to go check them out.

Thanks for the shout out! You are so sweet to compile your list when you aren’t feeling well. I hope you are feeling on top of your game soon! You need your strength for the new challenges that you are facing, so I pray the dietary changes do the trick! And don’t foget to make time for fun while at grad school!

My extra energy tip for long study sessions: Celestial Seasonings Morning Thunder Tea. It is a combination of Mate and Black Tea. Gives me a boost without the jitters. :)

  6. Thanks so much for sharing my recipe…it’s perfect for fall. And easy peasy, too!

There are so many great recipes here, Aubree! Such an honor to be included!!

When I was in grad school I didn’t leave the house except to go to class and meet with study groups. It was wild…but I’m grateful I did it. I couldn’t imagine blogging amid the whirlwind of activity…the reading alone was enough to make me batty. Take care of yourself!

  7. Maggie says:

Thanks so much Aubree! It’s nice to be back :) Sorry to hear you’re not feeling well – I am sure it doesn’t help with the stress of grad school! Hope you’re feeling better in no time!

  8. Thank you all SO MUCH for your comments! You’ve been getting me through the week; you have no idea how much of a blessing it’s been to receive ‘best wishes’ from you all!

I just wish I could bake you all a cake or something… :) ~Aubree Cherie

  9. Aubree – I don’t comment enough on your blog (I read it on my reader) but I did want to stop by and say I am so sorry about the back to basics. I have definitely been there, and in a slightly different way am there right now, though mainly because of stress :( I hope you feel better soon.
